Do you restore clock cases, or just furniture?
We restore the wooden case, including refinishing, structural repairs, and glass replacement. We do not service the clock movement itself, but we can coordinate with a clockmaker if you need both done. Many of our clock projects involve grandfather clocks and antique mantel clocks.
What is the difference between hand waxing and a standard furniture finish?
A hand-waxed or French polished finish is built up in thin layers by hand, which gives the surface a rich depth and warmth that factory spray finishes do not achieve. It takes more time and skill, but the result is noticeably different, especially on older or finer wood.
How long does a typical antique restoration take?
It depends on the piece and the scope of work. A straightforward refinish might take two to three weeks. A full structural restoration with veneer repair, hardware sourcing, and a traditional finish can take six weeks or more. We give you a timeline with your estimate so you know what to expect.
